• Mahle commissioned Petty’s Garage to restore and modify this Camaro and offered it as the grand prize in a giveaway organized at the 2018 Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo in Las Vegas, and a MAHLE video series about the car is viewable below. The factory-fitted drivetrain has been replaced by a 427-cubic-inch LS V8 and a TREMEC TKO-600 5-speed manual transmission.

• The first-generation Camaro made its debut in late 1966 to compete head-to-head against the Ford Mustang. The original Camaro retired in 1969, but the nameplate lived on until the 2024 model year.
